This expectation is without an object. There is no willing, no preconceived objectives, but the intention to leave the emergence of its sensorial perceptions which gather a vision of the universe inherent to the appearance.

Traces of a free representation of our environment appear in paper and some subtle links sustain them. This is a representation where imagination gives back a central space to the body in its perceptive quality and to the thought of a narrative quality. On the other hand Laeticia Meffre’s work is equally observed by our body and our spirit (or ethos).

The paper choice as a support and the delicate work of the pencil and the materials invite us to the intimate and thoughtful reading of the artist’s works.

It is as if we looked through a microscope the humans’ oscillations, the fluids and the sensations that go through our skin and construct our reality.

From the notebook to the large-framed format, Laeticia Meffre’s language is both organic and anatomic, and conducts us to question our own perspective of the visible and the invisible, the area and depth, the empty space and silence, to capture the enigma.
